Pedal feel consists of two factors: pedal effort and pedal travel.  Pedal travel is the actual distance the brake pedal has to travel to activate the brake pads against the discs.  Pedal effort is the amount of force needed to apply to the brake pedal to get the vehicle to start decelerating.

Good pedal feel is a pedal that should feel firm and consistent throughout the braking operation.  This will give the driver a safe and stable feeling.
